We are committed to assuring the quality of our service to all clients.  In the accomplishment of this aim, our objective is to provide an efficient and professional service, carried out to controlled practices and to standards that are consistently maintained.  This is ensured through the implementation and maintenance of clear policies and procedures that are adhered to by all members and staff.  We have set service standards in respect of those aspects impacting directly upon our clients and measure our compliance at regular intervals to ensure such standards are maintained or improved upon.

Environment

As a responsible corporate citizenship, we accept our responsibilities towards the environment.  These are fully detailed in Chambers’ Environmental Policy.

Client Confidentiality

The responsibilities of all members of Chambers and staff and the procedures in place to prevent any breach of the duty of confidentiality are contained within our Policy for Client Confidentiality and When Acting on Opposite Sides within Chambers.  It also details the additional measures that may be instigated if a case is of a particularly sensitive nature.

Provision of Services Regulations 2009

The following information is provided in compliance with the terms of the Provision of Services Regulations 2009.

  1. All Members of Ropewalk Chambers are sole practitioners.
  2. All Members of Ropewalk Chambers are barristers registered with the Bar Standards Board of England and Wales.  The names under which each such barrister is registered are as they appear on the Barristers' page of this website.
  3. Professional services provided by barristers in Ropewalk Chambers are provided in accordance with the terms of Annexes G1 and G2 of the Code of Conduct of the Bar of England and Wales which can be downloaded here [link to http://www.barstandardsboard.org.uk/standardsandguidance/codeofconduct/].
  4. Professional services are provided by barristers in Ropewalk Chambers under the law of England and Wales and any dispute arising is to be determined in accordance with that law.
  5. All Members of Ropewalk Chambers have professional liability insurance provided by the Bar Mutual Indemnity Fund Limited of 90 Fenchurch Street London EC3M 4ST and at www.barmutual.co.uk.  Territorial coverage is worldwide subject to the terms of cover of the Bar Mutual which may be viewed here.
  6. There are certain restrictions regarding any claim brought before the Courts of United States or Canada.  Full details are available from Bar Mutual.
  7. Any complaint about a Member of Ropewalk Chambers can and should be made in accordance with the Ropewalk Chambers Complaints Policy of which full details are on our Complaint Procedures page.
  8. Those providing professional instructions to a barrister at Ropewalk Chambers and requiring that barrister's VAT number should contact the clerking team on clerks@ropewalk.co.uk.

  • we may contact you by email, phone or mail to inform you of forthcoming seminars hosted;
  • pass relevant payment details to the facilitator of online seminar payments (please refer to Paypal’s policies).

We are committed to ensuring that your information is secure.  In order to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure, we have put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online.

How we use cookies
