Clare Haddon was called to the Bar in 1999.
Prior to coming to the Bar she worked for the British Council as a teacher for ten years. She travelled extensively during that period and lived in Colombia, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and The Seychelles.
Personal Injury
She has experience of all forms of personal injury work including occupational injuries, occupiers’ liability, holiday claims, injuries involving animals, highway cases, and road traffic accidents (including those involving allegations of fraud and claims against the Motor Insurers Bureau).
She regularly appears for Claimants and Defendants in roughly equal measure in fast track and multi track claims. She also appears at CICA and CRU appeals and at Coroners’ Inquests.
She is routinely involved at all stages of litigation, from the provision of preliminary advice through to the conclusion at trial or joint settlement meeting.
Clinical Negligence
She has experience of cases involving general medical practice and negligently performed operations and has acted for both Claimants and Defendants.
Fraudulent Claims
She has experience of all areas of fraud work in the context of personal injury claims, including staged accidents, bogus passenger claims and low velocity impacts.
Healthcare Regulatory Law
She has represented healthcare professionals at fitness to practice hearings before the Nursing and Midwifery Council, the General Medical Council and the Healthcare Professions Council.
Costs
She has represented both paying and receiving parties at detailed assessments of costs.
Employment
She has advised and represented both Claimants and Respondents in a wide range of cases, including unfair dismissal, flexible working, all forms of discrimination, and cases involving contractual disputes.
