Dan provides advice and representation at all levels in relation to a wide range of commercial matters, ranging from insolvency (personal and corporate) to contractual disputes.
Having focused on commercial law and corporate insolvency during his Master’s Degree at the University of Nottingham, Dan blends specialist academic knowledge and practical skills.
He is often instructed in disputes concerning commercial tenancies, High Court winding up petitions, contracts for the sale of goods and services and consumer credit litigation, such as the enforceability of credit-hire agreements.
Dan is experienced in all areas of personal injury litigation from advising on prospects of success, tactics and quantum to representing both Claimants and Defendants at hearings at all levels within the County Court.
Dan’s articular areas of specialism in this area include disclosure (both before and after issue of proceedings), applications in relation to Default Judgment, relief from sanctions and quantification of damages in relation to infant Claimants.
Dan is happy to consider instructions on the basis of a conditional fee agreement.
Dan is familiar with all elements of inquest practice and procedure, providing step-by-step representation and advice for bereaved families and other interested parties.
Particular areas of specialism include the role and extent of evidence at inquests and the scope of the verdict.
Dan specialises in claims involving fraud considerations including alleged staged accidents, phantom passengers and low velocity impacts.
Frequently advising, drafting statements of case and providing representation at Fast and Multi Track trials and interim hearings, Dan is highly familiar with the unique matrix of factual issues and tactics involved in this area and has considerable experience of the forensic investigation process necessary for the successful presentation of such cases at trial.
Notable cases have included a successful High Court appeal involving the introduction of new evidence of fraud discovered post-trial, ring frauds and high value multi-party litigation.
